How to use this guide
Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park is on the system list in Hawaii, on an island the atlas draws in its own inset. The centroid is not a crater rim and not a lighthouse. Volcanic activity is a conditions question. This page does not say whether lava is moving, whether a road is open, or whether air quality is acceptable.
The monthly record here does not peak in midsummer the way many continental parks do. That is a description of reported recreation visits from 2016 through 2025, not advice that a particular month is safe. Read the park’s safety and conditions pages before you travel, and treat any eruption notice as newer than this guide.
